BRAND [U] INTERNSHIPS
Here at Brand [U], we strive to provide opportunities for Undergraduate and Graduate students to gain experience and work in a real-world setting. We are offering internships for qualified candidates. Current openings include the following:
Communications/Media Relations Internship
As a Media Relations intern, you will learn about pitching news stories, developing publicity plans and writing press releases. The media relations intern will gain valuable experience by assisting in the publicity of programs, personalities and breaking news. The intern will actively participate in researching media contacts, maintaining press lists and databases, compiling press kits and writing press releases and media advisories.
Journalism, Communications, Public Relations or Marketing major preferred; experience using Microsoft Word, the Internet and general computer proficiency is required. Intern should know how to connect with media sources, internet research, compiling press kits, writing press releases. Strong writing skills are required. Previous office experience is a plus. In addition to the regular application items, candidates must submit a writing sample that clearly demonstrates creative writing skills. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.
Graphic Design Internship
Graphic Design skills are essential in every industry now as the market drifts to the Internet. The Graphic Design Intern is an artist who must create visually appealing designs that will touch, move, and inspire those who look at them. They are responsible for ensuring that our business is properly displayed through our web site, flyers, menus, etc. The Web Design Intern is motivated by a genuine and natural expression to transform the health and vitality of all people.
The intern must be organized, and detail-oriented, possess strong typography and layout skills. Due to limited office space, the intern will mostly work off-site, so access to a computer (preferably Mac) is mandatory. Proficiency in Quark, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop is required. Some knowledge of Dreamweaver and basic HTML is preferred, but is not mandatory. Preferred Majors are Graphic Design and Art. Minimum 2.5 GPA required
Marketing Research Intern:
Marketing research is an essential part of Branding and Marketing strategy. It is the effort to gather information about customer’s and the current market.
The marketing research intern must be a self starter, organized, and an effective communicator (both written and verbal). Must have proficiency in Powerpoint, Excel, Web-based research, and a basic understanding of consumer marketing. Some administrative duties also. Preferred Majors are Marketing, Journalism, and Business Administration. Minimum 2.5 GPA required.
