MY PRIORITIES

Congressman Mfume served as both Vice-Chair and later Chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus. He was regularly designated to preside as Speaker Pro Tempore of the House of Representatives. While in his third term, he was chosen by the Speaker of the House to serve on the Ethics Committee and the Joint Economic Committee of the House and Senate where he was later elected Chairman.

Secure funding for real small businesses to help people keep their jobs
Fight for federal resources needed to combat crime
Expand Obamacare to cover everyone and preserve Medicare and Medicaid
Pass sensible gun laws including an assault weapons ban and universal background checks

Stand up for working families by raising the minimum wage
Protect and defend Social Security and retirement pensions
